In the Bleak Midwinter

Christmas is over, Hanukkah is over, the winter festivals are nearly done. In the darkest days of the year (in the northern hemisphere), we celebrate light. Today’s music sheds light on these dim days by providing beauty for our ears and minds.

Music moves us; it affects us in ways we can only barely begin to understand; it has saved lives — and in the darkest of the winter months, music is sometimes the only refuge from despair.

So today, take refuge in beauty.
